Marshallow Milkshake Madness

I have a confession, I am highly prone to get horrible cases of the "Mondays".  However, I've discovered that if there's something really exciting to look forward to at the end of the day I can soldier through.  One of the best solutions I've found my Mondays is to have Marshmallow Milkshake Monday.  If you've never had a Marshmallow Milkshake you are totally missing out.  I stumbled upon the idea when reading some other bloggers talk about their experiences at fashion week.  Everyone was raving about these shakes so I decided to try it out.  I tracked down this recipe, and they turned out great.  Note: I did not use the yogurt or whipped cream and substituted skim milk for whole (but this was just to cut back on the lactose, I can usually conveniently forget my lactose intolerance but that many dairy products would be pushing it).

Lets Talk Shop!

This is the first year that I've ventured out to shop on Black Friday. However, I avoided the malls and headed out to do some antiquing with my mom.  When I was little I used to hate going to antique stores, but now I've realized that you can find some pretty unique pieces there.  Today was no exception.  The only thing I was really looking for was a jewelry stand, but I found some pretty great pieces!

My beautiful new jewelry stand
I really love how this is not only a dish but it also has the steam that can double as a ring holder! So functional and only $4.

These rings are awesome! I found them at Pier 1 (random right?) for $3 a piece.  They are made of glass which is really cool because I'm allergic to most metals. Here's an up close look too!

And finally the most amazing find of the day! A Vintage Chanel look-alike!! I've been looking for a classy black quilted leather purse with a gold chain.  Everyone should have one of these in their closets, but sadly until today I did not. Here's my new purse:

And here is the real deal

Pretty similar don't you think? And thus ended another fabulous shopping day. I hope that all of your adventures were as successful as mine! Here's a thought to leave you with on Friday:  Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.

Rise and Shine, It's Shopping Time

I've never partaken in the Black Friday shopping craze, but this year I found a really great alternative!! Some local artists (around 50 to be precise) are hosting a craft fair/ vintage flea market downtown today.  I think this will be an awesome way to cure my retail needs while avoiding the crowd of 35,000 already lined up at one of our major malls (and we have 3!!).  I understand the need to shop like the next person, but still 35,000 at midnight!! That is true dedication! I can't share what I'm planning on buying at the market because frankly I just don't know whats there, I can show you some things I already picked up this season!!

BCX
Steve Madden
Don't worry it's faux!!! And completely warm and fun to wear!

Ebay (Mines D&Y from Von Maur and it's grey)

I'm told I look like a hippie with the earband and fur vest, but I promise I will not wear them at the same time!!

In closing here is a great link I found to help all of you who are braving the jungles out there for Black Friday.  It lists all of the major deals and tells you which ones are real deals, and which are fakes that can be bought elsewhere for cheaper! Best and worst deals.

Happy Hunting

Thanksgiving Style

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope you all are enjoying your meals and avoiding the inevitable food coma. This year we are bypassing the traditional turkey fare and going Italian, with homemade spaghetti and meatballs! But we couldn't resist the pumpkin pie grand finale!! In honor of Thanksgiving I am finding clothes that remind me of all my traditional favorite turkey day foods! A feast for your eyes!

Steve Madden
Rich buttery leather, kind of like a great deep fried turkey, but there's no calorie guilt here!

J Crew
This sweater has a great mix of threads in it! Kind of like stuffing, a bunch of random things that go well together.

American Apparel

This skirt totally reminds me of green beans, which happen to be my favorite!
Marc by Marc Jacobs
And this my friends is dessert! Its rich, decadent, and definitely guilt worthy, and yet I still want it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Retail Theraphy

Yesterday was rather difficult, but you know what they say "when times get tough the tough go shopping"... Okay maybe I changed it a little bit! Here are some things I found that made my gloomy day a little happier!

Marc Jacobs $3
These rings combine two things I adore; Latin and Marc Jacobs!!! And at $3 I think I would buy all of them!

Forever 21 $34.80

These boots are great... I have absolutely no idea what I would ever wear them with, but as soon as I figure that out I'll snap them up!

Cashmere, J Crew $198

There's something about throwing on my favorite hoodie that always makes me feel better.  If my favorite hoodie also happened to be cashmere I think I would feel awesome!!

Kiehls $18.50

And when all else fails a good bubble bath always makes me smile!!
Hope your day is going great, or if it's not that this made it a little brighter!

Frozen Fingers

After combating chapped hands and frozen fingers all day, I've determined that it is in fact mitten weather.  At first this discovery made me happy because I could pull out my cashmere Coach mittens that I bought last season (only $20 at the outlet, talk about a great deal!!), but then I sadly remembered that I had left them at home and they have a hole in them that still needs to be repaired.  So if mitten surgery doesn't go well here are some replacements I'm considering.
Coach $80

Etsy $35

Kate Spade $65

And of course you can't have a mitten worthy day without a steaming hot cup of cocoa.  Lately I've been loving the Coldstone powdered cocoa.  It would be a perfect gift if paired with some of these great mugs.

Etsy $30

Have a great Tuesday! Stay warm!

Here We Go...

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
  - Anais Nin

Ever since I stumbled upon the fashion blogoshpere, I've been toying with the idea of starting my own.  After reading this awesome quote tonight I decided it was time to take the plunge. So here goes nothing!

Although I love the Holidays, Thanksgiving cannot be gone fast enough for me because I'm a total Christmas girl!! I feel like if I had some of these gorgeous pieces to wear on Turkey Day it might be a little more pleasant.

Sequin Skirt from Gap

Day Trip (From The Buckle) $36 what a steal!!
Nine West
Betsey Johnson (piperlime $35)

I love the sequin skirt because its so much fun, it practically shouts Christmas! The coat is great because it has clean lines, but the marching band style gives it some spunk (I'm still a high school band geek at heart!).  I have been craving these Nine West shoes ever since I first saw them, heels in skin tones make your legs look sky high! And finally this ring is not only sparkly and shiny, but it totally gives off a Christmas vibe with its adorable bow!!

Happy Monday!!
