Stuck In Colder Weather

To steal a quote from the new Zac Brown hit we are currently "stuck in colder weather, maybe tomorrow will be better" but I kind of doubt it.  Unfortunately this week looks like it's going to be miserably cold, and to make it even better I think I'm getting sick. Therefore, I have dedicated today's post to warm comfy clothing that is worthy of a freezing cold sick day.

Cupcake Friday!!

 As those close to me know, lately I have been on a cupcake kick. While this would be normal for most people, I don't like cake, never have. I attribute my new love for cupcakes to our local bakery which has amazing almond raspberry cupcakes.  In the spirit of new years resolutions I have had to limit myself to only buying one cupcake every Friday, hence the title Cupcake Friday (which has replaced Marshmallow Milkshake Monday until the weather warms up).  All of this thinking about cupcakes is motivating me to make some cupcakes of my own, here are some cute accessories to aide in the baking process.

After Much Ado

Sorry for the week long hiatus! I spent last week traveling to Minnesota. Over the course of my visit I was fortunate to visit the Mall of America for the first time ever!! So throughout the week I will be sharing some of my great finds! Today's post features my brand new leopard flats.

I also ran into my leopard wedge booties while I was at Forever 21, but decided that I would get more use out of the flats. Normally this isn't a buying technique that I would endorse (function over fun) but unfortunately my closet is running out of shoe space so I'm going to have to wait to buy more "twice a year" heels until I get a bigger closet!!

Spicy Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup

The weather lately has been unacceptably cold, meaning that dinners and lunches have to be super hot. Tonight my mom managed to improve upon the already perfect Grilled cheese and tomato soup combination.  For the soup she used Campbell's Low Sodium Tomato Soup, and then added a chopped up Roma tomato while the soup cooked.

Campbell's makes another variety of Tomato Soup that already contains pieces of tomato, but I much prefer having fresh tomato rather than canned. 

For the grilled cheese she used a bakery fresh, thick Italian country wheat and added a slice of Chipotle Cheddar cheese, and a slice of tomato.  The result was a great combination of comfort and spice. 

This is a perfect meal to pack in your thermos for work.  If you can't find your thermos from grade school (mine was the Lion King) here are some fun replacements!

Blue Jean Blues

For some reason I currently hate all of my jeans, I think that I might have grown a little bit taller because my favorite skinny jeans are now too short! So I am ready for a jean overhaul.  I'm thinking I need a dark skinny jean, a light skinny jean, a dark boot cut, and a medium wash flare.  If  I can find them cheap enough I'd like to get two pairs of each and get one tailored to wear with flats and the other tailored for heels. Here are some pairs I'm considering about getting.
